A calm and inviting interiors designed to feel fresh and modern.
This Coogee coastal apartment in Sydney reflects a modern interpretation of coastal living, with light interiors layered with soft greys and ocean-inspired blues. The overall palette is cool and calming, balanced with subtle touches of brass to introduce warmth and contrast.
Designed for a client naturally drawn to white and coastal interiors, the approach was to introduce colour in a way that remained soft, understated and inviting. A consistent palette flows throughout the home, creating a sense of simplicity, cohesion and stability as each space transitions into the next.
As the centre of the apartment, the kitchen makes a strong visual impact. A statement stone featuring layers of dark and lighter blues, soft greens and greys creates depth and interest. The kitchen explores a careful balance between light and dark, drawing inspiration from the shifting tones and textures of the ocean.
This material palette continues into the bathrooms, where the same stone creates layered moments from the shelving through to the vanity bench tops. Soft blue feature tiles are complemented by grey wall tiles and terrazzo flooring, resulting in a calm and soothing atmosphere. Antique brass finishes introduce warmth, while shell-like wall lights subtly reinforce the coastal inspiration.
Throughout the apartment, colour is woven thoughtfully into each space to create a calm, soft and cohesive environment. The result is a balanced and highly liveable home that feels layered, personal and connected to its coastal surroundings.
