A calm, layered interior designed to feel fresh and connected.
Set within a Coogee coastal apartment in Sydney, this project is a study in restraint, where a predominantly light interior is gently layered with colour, warmth and quiet detail. Designed for a client drawn to white, the approach was to introduce colour in a way that felt natural and considered, rather than overt.
A consistent palette flows throughout the home, creating a sense of ease and continuity from one space to the next. At its centre, the kitchen offers a subtle moment of impact. A statement stone anchors the space, its tones softly echoed through the cabinetry, establishing a refined balance between lightness and depth. The result is a kitchen that feels calm and timeless.
This material language continues into the bathroom, where the same stone informs a layered composition of tiles and finishes. A mix of textures from smooth surfaces to the gentle warmth of red-toned travertine introduces depth without disrupting the overall softness of the palette. Each element feels connected, allowing the space to remain cohesive while quietly expressive.
Throughout the home, colour is not applied, but woven - appearing in small, intentional moments that bring warmth and personality without overwhelming the sense of calm. The result is an interior that feels fresh, balanced and deeply liveable. A space that honours a love of simplicity, while gently expanding it into something more layered, more personal, and more enduring.
